On Wednesday night, schools across the Shine partnership came together for an evening of song and dance. 200 children from the Manningham, Heaton and Frizinghall areas came together to sing at Valley Parade, Bradford City Football Stadium. The choirs came from 9 different schools: Atlas, Heaton, Heaton St. Barnabus, Frizinghall, Margaret Mcmillan, Westbourne, Lilycroft, Dixons Manningham and Green Lane. The choirs had been rehearsing for weeks and had perfected a range of different songs so that there would be something for everyone. The day of the concert was the first time that all the choirs had chance to sing together! But they sounded fantastic! They sang: We’re all in this together from High School Musical, Lean on Me by Bill Withers, Counting Stars by One Republic, This Little Light of Mine by the Seekers and The World’s Greatest by R Kelly. As part of an encore we even got all the parents and carers up onto the stage for a final performance of ‘Counting Stars.’ For the first time ever, the Atlas Dance Club performed a routine to ‘Party Rockers’. It was the first time the dance club have performed in front of a live audience and they did a professional job. Everyone commented how impressed they were. All the children had a terrific time and received a commemorative t-shirt and medal for taking part.
